Mohamed Abbas is Vice President of Special Projects at Denark Construction, where he leads company-wide initiatives that drive operational excellence, strategic growth, and long-term performance. Based in Knoxville, Mohamed works closely with senior leadership to strengthen Denark’s processes, culture, and market position while ensuring consistent, high-quality project delivery.

With more than 15 years of experience in construction management and real estate development, Mohamed has successfully overseen more than $1.3 billion in projects across a wide range of sectors, including commercial, healthcare, industrial, office, pharmaceutical, and hospitality. His expertise spans multiple delivery methods such as CM-at-Risk, Design-Build, GMP, Lump Sum, and Owner’s Representative services, giving him a comprehensive perspective across the full project lifecycle.

In his executive role, Mohamed leads initiatives related to process improvement, project controls, quality assurance, safety strategy, and organizational development. He also serves as a Project Executive on complex civic and mixed-use developments, collaborating closely with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners to align goals, mitigate risk, and ensure successful outcomes.

Prior to joining Denark, Mohamed held leadership roles with nationally recognized construction firms, managing high-profile projects in both Tennessee and the New York metropolitan area. His project portfolio includes large-scale mixed-use developments, healthcare renovations, advanced manufacturing facilities, and award-winning public projects.

Known for his team-first leadership style, Mohamed emphasizes accountability, integrity, and a culture of high performance. He is passionate about developing people, improving systems, and delivering projects that create lasting value for clients and communities alike.

Mohamed holds an Executive MBA from the University of Tennessee’s Haslam College of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Technology with a concentration in Construction Management from the New York Institute of Technology.
