Denark Announces Ron Clark

Because Denark Construction, Inc. has always held the philosophy that the people are this company's greatest asset and we consistently seek the best-of-the-best in our industry, we are pleased to share with you that six-moths ago Denark was successful in recruiting Mr. Ronald Clark, Senior Project Superintendent, who adds more strength to an already solid team at Denark.

Mr. Clark, who brings over 30 years of construction experience, relocated with his family to Knoxville from the Washington, D.C. area, where he worked on several large government projects including the incredible feat of reconstructing the Pentagon before and after 9/11. We have attached a compelling U.S. News article related to Ron's challenges and accomplishments at the Pentagon that we thought might be of interest.

We are pleased to have Ron, it was a win-win arrangement for us all: he and his family wanted be closer to home and we wanted him on our team.

DENARK CONSTRUCTION ANNOUNCES THE AWARD OF THREE PREMIER PROJECTS IN SEVIER COUNTY (August 12, 2005)

Denark Construction, Inc. will be delivering three of the region's premier projects in Sevier County: Sevierville Events Center, Estates at Norton Creek, and WonderWorks-Pigeon Forge.

Based upon the scope and complexity of these projects, the owners had the interest of several national contractors. They could have picked any one of them, but they chose to use a proven local contractor - Denark Construction.

The $41.5 million Sevierville Events Center is one of the largest single projects that Denark has undertaken to date. Designed by Bullock Smith & Partners, the Events Center will include a 248,000 square-foot event center and 271,000 square-foot parking garage adjacent to the Events Center. Denark was selected directly based on qualifications and competed against five other General Contractors.

Like the Sevierville Events Center, Denark was directly selected for the Estates at Norton Creek - an $8.4 million luxury residential community in the foothills of the Smokies. Denark is proud to be the construction manager for this project and the preferred builder of the homes at Norton Creek. Johnson Architecture along with Rothe Architecture & Land Planning are providing design services.

Owner and developer Robin Turner explains how Denark was chosen, "We did a lot of due diligence, checked many references, and reviewed past work before selecting Denark Construction as our preferred builder for the Estates at Norton Creek. Denark is the only contractor that is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council in this region, and this project requires that degree of sensitivity and special competence."

The third project, WonderWorks, is a $3 million interactive themed attraction that will be built at the site of the Music Mansion. Architects Bullock Smith & Partners are faced with the challenge of designing the two-story building upside down. The design illustrates the type of uniqueness and educational excitement the venue aims to create for its patrons.

Denark's Vice President of Business Development Allan Cox explains "The Sevier County construction market continues to grow at a very rapid pace. Owners in this market have learned that if they want their projects completed on time, on budget, and with quality - Denark will deliver. Any project is a risk to an owner, so why make the risk even greater by choosing a contractor that has not proven they have what it takes to get the job done."

"We are pleased to have been selected for these three projects. It is a testament to our vision of being the region's premier builder of choice that community and business leaders think of first when they have important and challenging projects. We look forward to even greater success in Sevier County," commented Raja Jubran, company Chief Executive Officer.

Denark proudly served Sevier County in 2000 on the $13.9 million Smokies Multi-use Baseball Stadium. Critics doubted that a high-quality stadium could be designed and built in just over one year. Denark delivered the project not only on time, but two weeks ahead of schedule, within budget, and with no Change Orders.
